High School Mentorship Program
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office recognizes that our youth are one of our most valuable resources. We also know that there are teens that want to learn more about career options in Law enforcement and Corrections.
Dakota County Sheriff’s Office partners with local high school and college career counselors to provide an enriched mentor program for students that are interested in exploring Law Enforcement, Corrections, Criminal Justice and other closely related fields.
The mentor program is a mutually beneficial program for the sheriff’s office and our young citizens. The mentor program provides both our staff and our mentors with guidance, insight and knowledge into the different lenses that law enforcement and youth use on a daily basis.
This partnership allows for teens to meet our staff, learn about career opportunities, and learn about setting goals and how to go about pursuing their career interest. Most importantly, we are building relationships!
