Dakota County Sheriff’s Office-Foreclosure Sales

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office does not provide a list of upcoming sales.  After the sale, you can refer to the Foreclosure Sales Search, which is available for public viewing.

All mortgage foreclosure sales are listed by the attorney for the mortgage company.  The newspapers in Dakota County must meet the definition of a qualified newspaper as set forth in Minnesota Statute 331A.02.  The most frequently used newspapers are:

• Dakota County Tribune
• Hastings Star Gazette
• Farmington Independent
• Rosemount Town Pages

The attorney for the mortgage company places the sale in the newspaper.  The Sheriff’s Office is only the auctioneer at the sale.

Mechanics Lien Sales, which the Sheriff’s Office may conduct as an auctioneer, are published in the same mentioned newspapers.
